Sensational news as a hot favourite for the new Dr Who has emerged already.
Only a couple of days after David Tennant announced he would be leaving the hugely popular show, the 11th Dr Who
is likely to be................ Tom Ellis.
Former EastEnders actor Tom Ellis is a surprise choice -is best known as Dr Oliver Cousins, having spent just five months in the BBC soap in 2006.
The actor has already made an appearance on the hit TV show, albeit briefly, as NHS doctor Tom Milligan.
The first question would seem to be has Tom ever played any character other than a Doctor?!!
Tom is married to former Eastender Tamsin Outhwaite, who has also gone on to success outside of the British soap opera.
It appears that Dr Who's new boss Steven Moffat has already asked him about his availability to play the Time Lord for the 2010 series.
